Assunta, a woman in her 90s suffering a serious cerebral ischemia attack is rescued by a couple of young neighbours, Nicola and Giulia, and by the subsequent arrival of the ambulance. After regaining consciousness, the questions asked by the doctor of the emergency room create a gap in the woman’s recall which brings back memories and figures that populated her childhood in Teulada, a small rural village in the lower Sulcis area, before her parents sent her to the regional capital to work as a servant for some distant relatives. Assunta, who for a long time refused to know anything about her hometown, during the nights following the attack has to receive – unwillingly – visits from her ancient townsmen and listen to the tales of their existence perturbed by the creation of the biggest military firing range in Europe. From the tale of each one, a collective flashback takes life; a mosaic of several personal memories about the painful loss of innocence caused by the arrival of the NATO armies in Teulada, after the end of World War II and the subsequent expropriation of those lands that farmers used to cultivate, provoking the end of a rural world that is due to disappear.详情
