In one shot, the company laid off all their 422 employees after having granted a day off for everyone. It’s a bolt off the blue. Within minutes the workers manage to rush to the factory in via Fratelli Cervi, Campi Bisenzio, just outside Florence, along with the employees of contracting firms; they sneak in, and start a permanent assembly. E tu come stai? is the story of one of the biggest workers’ protests in Italy of the past few years. The film covers their struggle since the earliest steps, from the factory gates watched by security guards that fateful summer morning, up to the big procession in the square on March 26. The debut film of Filippo Maria Gori and Lorenzo Enrico Gori is an act of solidarity towards the Gkn labour dispute (far from being settled) while showing the solidity and strength of labour organizations: a warning in the face of the progressive loss of workers’ rights in Italy.详情
