Tim Hildebrandt was born on January 23, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, USA as Timothy Mark Hildebrandt. He is known for his work on The Deadly Spawn (1983), Ultima Online (1997) and Streets of Wonderland (2005). He died on June 11, 2006 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA.

In addition to his art work, he executive produced the horror film The Deadly Spawn (1983) and appeared in a small role in the movie that starred his son Charles George Hildebrandt.
He and his twin brother Greg Hildebrandt were leading figures in fantasy art for nearly 50 years, working together on such projects as the J.R. Tolkien calendars of the 1970s, the original "Star Wars" movie poster in 1977, Marvel Comics trading cards and countless other illustrations.
He and his brother Greg earned pocket money as children by turning the family garage into a haunted house and charging admission.
Tim and Greg Hildebrandt decided they wanted a career in painting movie posters and created a poster for 新科学怪人 (1974) overnight after visiting the Manhattan office for 20th Century fox in 1973. Although this poster didn't get used, it led to them being commissioned to create a poster for another Fox feature, 星球大战 (1977) a few years later.
