Born on November 27th, 1980, comedic-actor Mark Atkinson hails from Rhode Island and started his entertainment career soon after graduating from The University of Rhode Island in the New England stand-up comedy circuit. After transplanting to Southern California he studied improv at legendary improv schools The Groundlings and Second City in LA. Mark has acted in many of student films, short films, web-series and independent feature films. In addition, you might have seen him in several local, regional, national, and even international commercials for Kawasaki, Cox Communications, and Kia to name a few. Mark is also one of the co-hosts of The IntelleXual Podcast among other hosting gigs. In addition to acting and hosting, Mark has been very pro-active in writing and producing several projects in recent years including: the award-winning web-series "Soldiers Of Misfortune" & "Jordan Hates" (Best Webisode: San Diego Film Award 2017) and "A Quint-mas Carol" (Best Comedy Short at The Various Artist Independent Film Festival 2017) and "92115" (Spirit of San Diego Award 2019). Mark has also received the coveted San Diego "A-List" Actor award multiple times for his work in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for "Lucky" at the 2019 San Diego Film Awards and the 2019 Oceanside Film Festival. Mark resides in San Diego and will be seen and his voice will be heard in several up-coming projects in 2019...

Use to perform stand-up regularly at the ill-fated night club 'The Station' in West Warwick, Rhode Island. 'The Station' caught ablaze and burnt down due to a pyrotechnics malfunction during a 'Great White' concert on February 20th 2003 killing 100 people.
Attended the University of Rhode Island.
Booked a national Kawasaki ad on his 3rd commercial audition.

On February 1st 2017 Mark seriously injured his left hand while changing a flat tire on his friend's car. The jack gave out and his left pinkie was crushed and nearly severed. After several hours of surgery the doctors were able to save his pinkie, but to this day Mark still can't extend his left pinkie fully straight.
