This is the same Dave Bickers who was an outstanding Motocross World-Champion in the 1960s. Riding British-built Greeves motorcycles, he dominated the competition scene for several years. He was known as "The Coddenham Flier".
Founder of Bickers Action responsible for creating the Banking Rig. This ingenious apparatus is equipped with a forked metal frame that attaches to motorcycles for the performance of hazardous stunts. When a motorcyclist is towed at breakneck speeds, the rig is capable of banking the bike, left or right, so that the stunt looks more realistic when cornering. In essence, the rig is in complete control of the motorcycle, the rider simply gives the impression that he or she is operating the machine.
Awarded the Motorcycle News Man of the Year in 1960.
